We almost never – NEVER – score primo Cali-bubbly for south of $20 – at least any that we’d actually drink!!! But this woman-owned, woman-made wonder of California gold is a certified BANGER…especially at our wicked price!
First off…any product… literally ANY project, that tips the cap to the late, great Betty White – well, sign…me…UP!!! 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, sourced from Certified Sustainable family-owned vineyards in Napa, Sonoma, and Lodi – all to express the glorious California sunshine in a fizzy, hyper-fresh, and absolutely CRUSHABLE bottle o’bubbly. Floral flourishes of jasmine and honeysuckle, then Korean pear, and mandarin blossom with yuzu…DANG, Betty! Each greedy sip simply ROCKS with purely focused flavors of white nectarines, golden apples, and unabashed liquid sunshine. The bubbles are frenetic and zippy, with a freshness and a softness that leads to these bottles disappearing lightning fast. But hey, at ONLY TWELVE DOLLARS a bottle – drink two, or three!
Founder Jen Pelka knows a thing or two about Champagne and the world of sparkling wines. As CEO and founder of The Riddler – an all-women funded NYC and San Francisco based Champagne Bar – she’s seen, tasted, and explored tens of thousands of bottles of bubbly over the years…and Une Femme started as the by-the-glass pour here. But when the Champagne Bars shuttered (thanks, Covid!). She refused to be conquered – and Une Femme took on a life all its own.
