Sorry, we meant easy to LOVE and CROW on about – Barolo is just the BOMB, the caviar on the blini, the parm on the pasta, the cherry on top of a mountain of hand-whipped cream….oh man, I’m BUSTIN’! Negretti’s 2017 Mirau is here!! 94 POINTS, over 50% OFF, organically farmed, single-vineyard Mirau from the La Morra commune...how many can I fit in my car at our absurd, unheard-of price? We’re not worthy!!
Ha! Yeah, right, of course we are – Barolo probably gets our blood pumping like almost nothing else (Napa cabernet is up there though, and white Burg, and bubbles, oh and aged Mosel rieslings…anyway, getting off track here...) – back to this EPIC Barolo. It’s THRILLING… so complex, so intense, so redolent of everything we love dear about northern Italy, so full of grace and power...ahhh!

ROSES. Do you REALLY know roses? How about flowers in general? MAN oh man, is this perfumey with a rose garden’s worth of flowery, powerful scents...are those violets? Peonies? YES! Also, black tea, Asian spices, that must-have, OMG-we-love-it bit of citrus peel, rich and mouth-gripping, and somehow all so feathery and awesomely light...oh Barolo, you give us goosebumps. The Negretti brothers CRUSHED it in the warm, dry 2017 Barolo vintage and this is just begging to go into your mouth and into your cellar too — at our price you can bury a few and wait for 2030 or something...they will easily last that long!! But today? These are going to fly! While it lasts, Barolo Barons and Baronesses!
