Lafond Winery & Vineyards Pinot Noir SRH Santa Rita Hills 2020
Sip-n-Save Saturday! Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir for ONLY $15?!?! Lafond is BACK...and how!
BOOM! Over 57% OFF, too? Be still, my heart! Just a luxurious half-mile float up the Santa Ynez River from the iconic Sanford & Benedict vineyard, and only a quarter mile from the mythical Sea Smoke – Pierre Lafond is an old-timer LEGEND of Central Coast Pinot Noir – and his wines are deserving of rediscovery! This is the heart of the Sta. Rita Hills – where only the very best fruit is grown, and typically priced in the $75 to $150+ range…but NOT TODAY! An absolute MUST if you love killer bargains on the highest-level Central Coast pinot!!
Pierre Lafond started with his own little Santa Barbara cheese shop, selling a bit of wine on the side, when he purchased the land that would become Santa Barbara’s first post-Prohibition commercial winery. The year was 1961! WAY before Sideways caused a global bumrush on all things Central Coast Pinot Noir. At our all-time jaw-dropping price – the next rush for wicked-good Pinot is…NOW!!!
High-toned and entrancing notes of red cherries and black plums, with cinnamon red hots and rose petals, leading into a mouthful of yumminess that includes punchy flavors of raspberries, chocolate-dipped black cherries, and blood oranges. The folks at Wine Enthusiast put this in their "EXCELLENT and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED" range of 90-93 points back in October of 2023 – but I got to say, what may have been 90 points and "tightly woven" is now stretched, taut, and endlessly impressive like a mid-90s Jean-Claude Van Damme full split between two palm trees! (You know the one.) Here – a full 21 months later, I'm upgrading this baby to a 93, easy, because hey...Kickboxer was a classic, and so is this bottle of $15 MAGIC! It’s dark, warm, and spicy, with a burst of zippy, saliva-inducing acidity that keeps this very poised and simply primed for your holiday table. Thanksgiving turkey, Christmas goose, even random-Tuesday roast chicken. You’re gonna LOVE it!
For just FIFTEEN DOLLARS?! Load up and pop these bottles all Holiday season!
