WHOA! Porch-pounder alert of the highest level! I know it’s Monday, we’re all dragging a bit into the new week, some of us might have drunk a wee bit too much on Saturday…and Sunday, but here…we…go!!! Simply CRUSHABLE red blended goodness in a rich, juicy, and fresh Rhone style, priced to crush all competitors, of course. But what a complete joy to bang out a few of these on a Saturday afternoon in the rocking chair after a game of cornhole or mowing the lawn, or really...ANYTHING!! $14! Incredible!
YES…just FOURTEEN DOLLARS…and did you see that quote from Galloni?! I can’t say I knew of Joseph Ryan before – but anyone who cut his razor-sharp teeth at FLOWERS deserves a shot in my book. And…WOW…does this ever deliver! These guys are focusing more and more on just pinot and chardonnay from their new Sonoma estate (and getting wicked high scores in the process,) but we tasted through their whole line-up a few weeks back and…DANG! It was these crazy delicious blends that really got our motors humming! For a full 60% OFF?! Epic. Can you say zippy and bright black cherry and red currant basket? Delicate violet and peonies floating on a cool, salty breeze? Strawberry and rhubarb crumble? Some of my all-time favorite smells and flavors bottled up at a drink-me-all-day 12.5% ABV? Welp, that’s what’s happening here, with very cool spicy secondary notes of pepper and cigar box, clove and freshly upturned earth...very complex for a wine priced like we have it and a JOY, pure, unfiltered JOY to drink! Utterly perfect right now, tonight, immediately, and so soft and supple-y drinkable as to put a bit of fear into you. In the BEST way!! So good…but did we get enough?! Time will tell, but y’all go rightfully MAD for these supremely quenchable reds – I’m guessing these beauties will disappear fast-like…
