Yowza! That went fast! But then again – did anyone really expect 93 point, single vineyard California Sauvignon Blanc made by Cory Waller to last for long? Especially when the sun is beating down, and Last Bottlers across the country are beating tracks to the nearest beach, lake, or backyard swimming hole? It never stood a chance. But fret not – ‘cause the 92 POINT 2021 is here – and not to disagree with the great and powerful Decanter…but this one is actually my favorite of the two. It’s closer than Santa Anita photo finish – but I’m absolutely LOVING this killer-diller 2021 vintage.
It is sooooo close in flavors and aromas to the 2022 – I had to double check to make sure I poured from the right bottle. But as it opens up in the glass, I get a bit more lemon and tangerine than grapefruit and lime, and the warm and spicy finish of the 2022 is a bit cooler, with a more traditional grassy freshness that I just love in crisp and zippy Sauvignon Blanc. A little *POP* of tropical papaya notes brings it all home – and yet ANOTHER Eden Rift wine over-delivers in most every imaginable way! These folks have been behind some of the best deals and most outrageous values thus far in 2025 – and it ain’t stopping TODAY!
