EIGHT generations of winemaking (a lot of you know the story on this wonderful producer, so skip ahead...) — there is a 12th-century castle situated dead center of the Grand Cru vineyard of Wineck-Schlossberg (800-1200 feet elevation) in the tiny town of Katzenthal, just west of Colmar in the heart of Alsace, and we SWEAR you can feel an indescribable sense of awe here. It is 100% organic riesling and it SINGS, it vibrates with energy. Love it. Take in the white flowers, inhale the citrus oils, taste the citrus pith, grapefruit, apples, quince, crazy lovely and fine aromatics...just barely sweet with lightning-strike acidity and freshness.
