It’s a little tricky to get the good stuff from Burgundy’s drastically low-yielding 2021 vintage… but you know we did it! And did we get it for you at $32? Yes indeed, we did.
2021 was so difficult. Between severe frosts, mildew pressure, and hail, yields were down a distressing 30-50%. (Thank you, intrepid farmers, for your spirit of endurance. Even though I’m sure many bad words were said.) Still, the most careful and fortunate producers found that the fruit they managed to get was a welcome return to CLASSIC cool-weather character. Think red fruit, elegant acidity, a purity rather than richness. Strawberry, mushroom, and softer tannins. Heaven!
Domaine Guy Amiot has been family-run in Chassagne-Montrachet since 1920. This cuvée is an ongoing tribute to the estate's matriarch, Simone, who passed in 2009. The fruit came from 45-year-old vines, so this bottle holds true character from every possible angle. At 46% off, a steal.
