But hey, consistency is a good thing, and I promise you, even though this boasts the same Decanter 94 pt. score as the Atlas Peak 2019 we started the day with – the flavor profile of this ROCKING 2017 from Chiles Valley is VASTLY different! (But still EPICALLY delish!) The violets! That warm, fresh-cut tobacco scent, and roasted herbs, with sun-baked clay…just AAAAAHHHHHH! There’s this plum and black cherry medley at work, then red currants, and this almost tropical dragon fruit sensation, too! Crazy complex, but seven years have worked MAGIC on this (7 is the most magical number, after all), so it is buttery soft, and silky smooth too.
Chiles Valley, on the eastern edge of Napa smack in between the iconic sites of Howell Mountain and Pritchard Hill is where these vines flourish, and this AVA has been a secret weapon in the Conn Creek portfolio for years!
