The level of minty, roast-y herb savoriness, the sweet and tart grenache fruit, the melon-twisting spiciness, and the crazy-long, mind-reeling finish…mmmm! 2021 is one of those hit-n-miss vintages in Châteauneuf-du-Pape – a lot less wine, and how you did was highly dependent on your Mother Nature’s evaluation of your universal karma – but you know what? This straight-up HITS! Like Freddie Freeman in the World Series – all the way back to the cheap seats! This has the intense nose of raspberry liqueur and crushed rock, with syrah lending some dark blue fruits and that must-have sweet wild herb note – as it opens, you get violets, fennel, more minerals, and kirsch. A baby now, it will only get better over the next few years....get enough to cellar!! A few more to put in stockings and under the tree?! Wowza! While it lasts!
