Château Laroze Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2018
Oh, you better believe I’d be storming a French prison for this bottle! 94 POINTS and one wickedly delicious price – just a THRILLING bottle of Bordeaux any way you slice it, kids.
Let’s break it down…Point #1 – Hubert de Boüard. You know, the super-consultant phenom that also owns and produces the nearby Château Angelus!!! (Their 2018 'Hommage a Elisabeth Bouchet' currently runs for about $1,200 a bottle, FYI.) Point #2 – The Meslin family has been in Saint-Émilion since the 16th century, building and restoring this estate back in 1885, when they purchased a part of the iconic FIGEAC estate. It has passed down from father to son ever since…so yeah, pedigree checks out. Point #3 – THE PRICE! Grand Cru Bordeaux such as this, with what I just told you, for LESS than $30?! Seriously?! Best price in the USA, of course, and just a stellar chance to snag a tremendously over-delivering wine from the fantastic 2018 Bordeaux vintage!
This stuff is crazily delicious, make sure you get some...what a score! You might easily think it’s a $150+ Napa cab – we are talking succulent, creamy, round, plush red and blue fruits, chocolate cherries, cassis, and some very cool, intriguing Asian spices...the wine just keeps on going and going, too, very long and lush and sexy. Wow! SO GOOD and intense for a SONG!!
** Side note: there’s BARELY any of this left. Click quick if you want some… **
Jeb’s 94 POINT review calls this “one heck of powerhouse,” and finishes with a Nostrodamus-like proclamation: “This beautiful, powerful, yet elegant Saint-Emilion needs 2-4 years to integrate its oak yet should shine for 15+ years from cold cellars.” Here we are…just about 3.5 years after his review…and BOOM!!! Beautifully integrated, firing on all cylinders, and ready to run laps around wines three times the price for the next 15 years, easy!!! We only have enough for y’all out east, and trust me when I say…this could FLY!!!
** Did I mention this is 100% ORGANIC farming too? That’s still pretty rare in Bordeaux, but catching on with the big estates, and the top winemakers…expect this to be the norm for many of the top estates going forward! **
** Heads up, East Coasters…all shipments are headed out straight from our California warehouse on this one, so please allow a few extra days for delivery! **
** Ice pack charges will be assessed and charged at the time of order print ($8 per box, consolidated). If the ice pack method is selected on one (or all) of your orders, that ice pack charge will be assessed. **
