97 POINTS!!! At this sort of PRICE?! It just reels the senses. This is an Empire Strikes Back-level sequel that has me shook...Château des Bachelards...the GREATEST. CRU. BEAUJOLAIS on the planet!!! Comtesse Alexandra de Vazeilles continues to defy all naysayers, and makes the world’s TOP gamay noirs – that score right alongside the greatest Grand Cru Burgundies, the rarest Northern Rhone syrahs – the BEST wines in the entire world – and she does it here, in the much-maligned Beaujolais region. If you think you know Beaujolais...THINK AGAIN! No bubbly, spritzy carbonic maceration here. No horsey, barnyard, root cellar flavors...just elegance, supreme power, layers upon layers of deep red and black berries and plums, intoxicating floral aromas, with spice and minerality to match, and a silky texture that your tongue simply won’t believe possible!
For $32!?! This would be a must-have, cannot-be-missed wine at TWICE the price – easily. ORGANIC. BIODYNAMIC. Vineyards that have flourished since the 12th century, planted by the same Cluny monks that helped make Burgundy what it is today. They called this site “The Place of God,” and one sip has me converted. LILACS! Red raspberry and strawberries! Iron ore and spicy peppercorn, with this silky, chocolatey truffle sensation...WOW!!! Comtesse Alexandra has been at the helm since 2014, after training at top Chateaus like Bordeaux’s iconic Château LATOUR and Burgundy’s revered Domaine de Montille and Domaine Roulot (not too shabby)! In a few short years, she has performed MIRACLES – and aided by absolutely ACE consultant, Stéphane Derenoncourt – they are putting every wine drinker on planet Earth on notice. You NEED this!
